Our Value Impact

We are one team, working in partnership to enrich lives, with integrity, honesty and trust, recognising and celebrating the contribution of all to society.

Respecting a person’s individuality and their role within society.

Using outcome focused support plans, we support the person to reach their individual aspirations, learn new skills and create opportunities in a way that is tailored to their needs. Whether this be utilising varying communication methods, sensory methods that are unique to the person, accessible information, equipment and facilities, each experience of care and support is matched to the person.

Within our values at Cura Care, to flourish within their communities and society, we actively encourage social participation, making contact and building relationships with community and voluntary organisations.

Understanding the need for families and significant relationships, utilising a compassionate and empathetic approach to care delivery.

Where appropriate, increasing family involvement is critical in care delivery. Listening and responding to loved ones who require their own support is pivotal to doing it right, the right way. Cura Care are committed to improving the quality of life for both the person and their families in a way that puts them at the heart of everything we do. We encourage families to speak up and advocate on behalf of the person and tell us how we can improve, or indeed, when we have done well. Cura Care ensure that all requests for advice, support and communication is acknowledged with the same care and compassion, as that afforded to the person.

Working in collaboration with specialist services.

Cura Care supports the person to attend and be part of all appointments, visits, meetings and discussions as per their agreed health and social action plan. Our values support the person to access their information under the relevant legislation should they wish to do so. We act as the pivotal communicator and care co-ordinator for all wrap around services, ensuring the person is informed at each step and understands what is happening.

Furthermore, we will work alongside, and support, independent advocacy services to ensure the persons voice is heard. We discuss and share best practice with involved professionals and organisations. We are accessible and flexible in our response to partners and understand that delivering the right care, in the right way, to meet changing needs, is often fluid and time critical.

When required, Cura Care works alongside housing providers to ensure the right care is delivered in the right accommodation. We will also, where appropriate, consider accommodation acquisition should this be viable and right for the person.

People are safe and protected from harm.

Cura Care UK acknowledges the barriers to providing the right care, in the right way. These barriers can include discrimination, marginalisation, inequality and a lack of co-ordinated and collaborative care and support.

Cura Care UK use the Making Safeguarding Personal framework to ensure risk assessments are strength based and account for behavioural change and external influences. Risk management plans include the six principles of safeguarding, where prevention is at the fore.

Risk assessments identify seriousness and likelihood of harm to include, but not limited to:

• Risk of harm to the person by their behaviour
• Risk of harm from others
• Risk of harm to others
• Risk of breakdown of caring arrangements

The Positive Behavioural Support and competence framework underpins our care and support delivery, to mitigate risk, which is developed with the person and all involved professionals. There is a whole organisational approach to Positive Behaviour Support training with additional mandatory, specialised and bespoke training tailored to each individual.

Cura Care UK staff ensure any concern of harm, abuse or risk thereof, is addressed under the Care Act 2014 and in line with all other relevant legislation, i.e Human Rights Act 1998 and the Mental Capacity Act 2005.
